ANZ appoints Jonathan Stevens as Chief Risk Officer, Vanuatu and Kiribati

ANZ has announced the appointment of Jonathan Stevens as Chief Risk Officer, Vanuatu and Kiribati.

Stevens will be responsible for overseeing risk strategies and policies, as well as protecting the bank’s balance sheet in both markets.

He will be part of the local leadership team in Vanuatu and report to Brent Turner, Chief Risk Officer, Pacific Islands.

Commenting on the appointment, Turner said: “Jonathan’s knowledge of credit and risk processes across the region, including his most experience as Lending Service Manager for Pacific, will be an asset to the team here in Vanuatu.

“This internal appointment is a great reflection of the level of experience we have within the Pacific team.”

ANZ Vanuatu Country Head and CEO, Sheng Lee, said: “I am pleased to welcome Jonathan to the Vanuatu Leadership team and look forward to working together to maintain positive relationships with our regulators in Vanuatu and Kiribati.”

Stevens has more than 28 years of banking experience, having worked at the former National Bank of Fiji, Colonial National Bank and Bank of South Pacific, before joining ANZ in 2014. He has a Bachelor Degree and a MBA from University of South Pacific.
