Van2017 is seeking a group or individuals to bring the vision and plan for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies alive
An Expression of Interest was issued last week by Van2017 to seek proposals from qualified companies /groups/individuals who have experience if the production and direction of large scale ceremonial events.
Ceremonies and Cultural Manager Brigitte Laboukly said that “these ceremonies will be watched by thousands in the stands, participated by hundreds of athletes and performers and seen live across the Pacific.
The show not only needs to reflect the cultural elements of our country, but must be produced in such a way to meet the strict guidelines of the Pacific Games Council in terms of protocol and length, but also to tight budget.
We need to make sure we find the right people to produce these shows who can juggle all these components. With 250 days to go before the Opening Ceremonies the time is critical to engage these resources.
Brigitte explained that the major advantage that we now have is that the content and format of the shows are now mapped out, so that the creative element which usually take the most time to create, is already defined and waiting for the right producers to bring it to life!.
