Van2017 is proud to introduce to you a new member of its staff: Richard Kekuki

“Van2017 is all about Togetherness for the betterment of our Nation,” said Richard Kekuki.

“I joined the Van2017 Organising Committee because I believe that if we work together as a Team, as a Community and as a Nation, we can achieve great things. And I want to be part of that, to be part of history, and to contribute my skills and knowledge to helping my country.”

Kekuki recently joined Van2017 Team as Marketing Activation Officer, and is responsible for the promotion of events and activities for the Mascot, Nasi the Nasiviru, Em Pawa, schools program and other community related promotions.

He started at Central Primary from year 1-6, before going on to Malapoa, later to Port Vila International School, then to Papakura High School in Auckland, New Zealand.

In New Zealand, Kekuki was fortunate to enjoy short courses on flying instruction with the Ardmore Flying School, before he returned back to Vanuatu.

After his return, he was employed as Tour Coordinator Assistant in the Operations Department at Evergreen Tours, also as part-time driver, tour guide, and Airport Transfers Guide.

Kekuki states that the most important priority to him, in his job, is to efficiently coordinate his team, with attention to detail, making sure every Van2017 event is a success.

As Nasi’s handler, Kekuki is responsible for the logistics of the Mascot Team, as well as coordinating the travel plans for Nasi’s program into schools and rural communities.
