Samson Natin Sawan joins Van2017 staff

Van2017 is proud to announce the appointment of Samson Natin Sawan as the Pacific Mini Games Venues and Games Services Manager, a position which plays a key role in ensuring that core services for the Venues are planned and delivered.

.  The Venues Services team are the face of Van2017 venues and excel at providing excellent front line customer service in a busy and dynamic sporting environment.

As Venues and Game services Manager, Samson will be responsible for the coordination of all interfaces of Van2017 Venues in areas such as VIP/Protocol, Sports, Transport, Communications, Security, Workforce Support, Fest Napuan Festival.

Samson has always had a passion for sports, having once played competition level Indoor Volleyball in the Port Vila League.

Originally from Ambrym, Samson attended Matevulu College then UNITEC in Lae, Papua New Guinea where he completed a Bachelor in Land Management.

Upon his return to the Vanuatu, Samson worked at the Department of Lands and then moved on to Vanuatu National Provident Fund, where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s assets.

“I love sports and I am a strong believer of sports for development and healthy life style,” stated Mr Sawan. “The legacy and the developments that the Games will bring must be protected and maintained for the future sports men and women of this country. I have joined the team as part of my capacity building, the lifetime experience and to learn how we will deal will the challenges given the limited time we have.”
