Vanuatu’s Internal Minister hands over Seafront Park to municipality

The Port Vila Municipal Council has been reminded of its responsibility to manage the redeveloped Seafront Park.

During the handover the redeveloped project Friday, Minister of Internal Affairs, Andrew Solomon Napuat urged the municipal council not to take its role light.

Napuat thanked the New Zealand government and other stakeholders for their generous support to the redevelopment of the park.

"The Government of Vanuatu, Port Vila residents and visitors from abroad expect proper maintenance of the seafront and the Ministry is happy to note that a Seafront Management Plan is in place to guide the overall management of the precinct,” he said.

Napuat called on the business community to work with PVMC to create events and activities so the heart of Port Vila will become not only an attractive but a vibrant hub for residents and visitors.

He also called for greater public responsibility in keeping Feiwa Park clean, safe and secure.
