Vanuatu Rugby League powered by Powerhouse

Vanuatu’s leading high performance provider Powerhouse Performance has signed as sponsor of the Fr8 Logistics/DHL Vanuatu Rugby League (VRL) team for the upcoming Test Match in Port Vila against the Solomon Islands.

The sponsorship will see Powerhouse Performance provide high performance services to the Test team and also be the official sponsors of the Powerhouse Performance Trainers.

VRL President Tom Carlo commented on this long standing arrangement “Powerhouse Performance have been with us since our first game against Greece in 2012 and provide our team with the physical edge which is often the difference between winning and losing. Powerhouse Performance coaches people of all levels from our finest athletes and current Olympians right through the average person trying to improve their health. Whether it is at the athlete level or through to the average trainer, Powerhouse Performance gets the best out of that individual or group and we couldn’t be happier to continue our association between Powerhouse Performance and the Fr8 Logistics/DHL Vanuatu Rugby League (VRL) team.”

The sponsorship will see Powerhouse Performance feature on the back of the Fr8 Logistics/DHL Vanuatu Rugby League team playing shorts, training shorts and on the front and back of the Powerhouse Performance Trainers shirts. Powerhouse Performance Head Coach and Managing Director Brett Wright commented “It is an honour to be involved in any national team and the Fr8 Logistics/DHL Vanuatu Rugby League is no different. The VRL has provided me some great opportunities including an introduction to work at and learn from Jeremy Hickmans, the Head of Performance at the Brisbane Broncos, renowned for being the best in the game, which has enabled me to further develop my profession. I have the best job in the world and this sponsorship is my little way of saying thank you to the VRL and I can’t wait for the week ahead.”

The Fr8 Logistics/DHL Vanuatu Rugby League team started preparations on Monday October 10 under Head Coach Lionel Harbin and Brett Wright from Powerhouse Performance in his role of Head of Performance with the national team. The Solomon Islands squad have shown their intention of how seriously they are taking the game with their neighbours by coming into camp in Port Vila on Saturday.

On the domestic front, both the Port Vila Fire Ants and Santo Boars are finalising their respective preparations for their upcoming clash before Vanuatu and Solomon Islands do battle on Saturday, October 15 at Port Vila Stadium.
