Fiji Airways gets new Airbus A350-900 aircraft

The first of Fiji Airways' two new Airbus A350 aircraft arrived at its new base Nadi Airport on Saturday.

The airline said their leased Airbus A350-900 aircraft would carry 334 passengers.

The aircraft has been named the "Island of Viti Levu".

They will service flights to New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

Fiji Airways said the second aircraft would arrive in the country next month.

"Fijians will also be able to visit their families abroad and travel to new destinations with unprecedented ease - meaning we will feel closer to our diaspora community, and to the world, than ever," said Fiji's Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama at the welcome ceremony in Nadi.
