Adams strong again in bounce-back win for Thunder

Another strong game from New Zealand's Steven Adams has helped the Oklahoma City Thunder respond to back-to-back NBA losses with a 114-96 home win against the Indiana Pacers.

Lofty centre Adams had a second straight double-double, notching 17 points and 11 rebounds, as the Thunder took their season record to 2-2 with the victory at Chesapeake Arena on Thursday (NZ time).

The 24-year-old made eight of his 13 shots and added two blocks and two steals in a typically busy all-round effort.

It was a welcome result for Oklahoma City, who started their 2017-18 campaign with a win against the New York Knicks but had since gone down to both the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Adams had 17 points and 13 rebounds in that loss against Minnesota, meaning he is averaging 12.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game after the opening four games of the season.

The New Zealander averages 7.6 points and 6.4 rebounds during his NBA career.

Superstar guard Russell Westbrook yet again stuffed the stat sheet for Oklahoma City, collecting 28 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds for his second triple-double of the season.

New headline acquisition Carmelo Anthony also collected a double-double, collecting 28 points and 10 rebounds.

The Thunder's next game is away to the Timberwolves on Saturday.
