PNG distance runner on US scholarship

PNG middle distance runner Tuna Tine left Port Moresby on Sunday afternoon for USA where she will join New Mexico Military Institute.

Tine, who completed her Grade 12 last year at AOG Christian Academy in Lae, has a full scholarship to run cross country in the National Junior College program.

Only 21 years of age, Tine has had lot of international experience and her humble nature has landed her the scholarship.

She has been described by Athletics PNG President Tony Green as deserving of this wonderful opportunity, which makes her a great role model to younger athletes.
