"The Government is very dedicated in supporting the sports activities throughout the country leading up to the National Games initiative. The new Director General Henry Vira is also very supportive in moving sports and youths initiatives forward", said EO Henry.

" An additional amount to support the National Games and Samoa games is in paper submitted for the Council of Ministers approval", he added.

Meanwhile the LOC chairman, Etienne Ravo also confirmed that four secondary schools were identified to house the athletes and LOC will commence a small maintenance work in the schools as part of the games legacy plan.

He also set the time frame for all works to complete before May.

He also announced that the closing ceremony will be a colourful night of cultural and custom dances from the southern islands.
