Vanuatu women qualify for quarterfinals at ANOC World Beach Games

The Vanuatu women’s volleyball team have qualified through to the quarterfinals of the ANOC World Beach Games, which will be held Tuesday in Doha, Qatar.

The team featured their debutant Majabelle Lawac in a solid win 0f 2-0 against Canada in their first game.

Lawac is only 17-years-old and she has been playing for the past 12 months.

The girls finished their pools with 2 wins and 1 loss under their name after losing to Australia and winning their game against Gambia.

The team will be playing against USA in the quarterfinals.

Team Vanuatu consists of Captain Sherysyn Toko,Loti Joe,Maybel Ravo,Luduine Tebeim,Majabelle Lawac and Chantale Willie and guided by Shanon Zunker who is again stepping up to assist Vanuatu Beach Volleyball team on the international stage.

Zunker will be ably assisted by Lucyan Peladjee Maho as team Manager.

Up to 1,300 athletes from 97 countries have qualified to take part in the inaugural World Beach Games, which ends on Wednesday.
