BRED Bank commits 1 million vatu to the 300 Coconut Bags project

300 Coconut Bags was the brainchild of SPC’s Regional Office Melanesia, supporting innovation and social entrepreneurship in Vanuatu. Initially launched in 2020 with funding support from the Pacific Community and the Government of Canada, the project provides unemployed women and People with Disabilities with specialized sewing skills. With these skills, participants create innovative products using recycled plastics and local materials such as pandanus mats.

 

BRED Bank increases sponsorship level for Vanuatu’s ProMedical

BRED Bank has been a sponsor of ProMedical for the last two years.

BRED Bank’s Darryl Constantin and Alexandre Perret, presented ProMedical’s National Manager, Anthea Jones and Efate Station Manager, Judy Willie with a cheque for VT480,000 representing six months’ sponsorship.

ProMedical relies on sponsorship from the businesses community and ambulance subscriptions to continue providing 24-hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day a year pre-hospital emergency services to the people of Vanuatu.

     

BRED Bank expanding services in Vanuatu

BRED Bank confirmed that the construction of the new commercial building and BRED bank branch should start before the end of the year.

It is expected to be open for business in the last quarter of 2020.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently led by the BRED Group CEO, Olivier Klein who is currently visiting the bank’s operations in Vanuatu.

New commercial bank opens for business in Solomon Islands

The bank received the final letter of authorization from the Central Bank of Solomon Islands (CBSI) on Monday.

Governor of CBSI Denton Rarawa issued the final letter of approval after the Central Bank carried out a final inspection of the premises and its banking chamber.

The CBSI says the opening of BRED Bank Solomon will allow businesses, corporate clients, and the general public opportunities to make choices of banking services available in Solomon Islands.

At the same time, the number of commercial banks in Solomon Islands has now increased to four.
