Former Vanuatu public servant faces money laundering charges

Victor Rory is facing 20 counts of obtaining money by deception and 20 counts of money laundering.

According to court affidavits, Mr Rory was in charge of the European Union funded projects in Vanuatu and the Principal Aid Negotiator when the alleged offending happened.

The Vanuatu Daily Post reports Mr Rory was supposed to stand trial for plea on Tuesday but his defence counsel has asked for leave saying they need more time.
