Vanuatu PM acknowledges Digicel’s participation in recovery efforts

Digicel Vanuatu’s Network restoration well underway

In the last 72 hours, Digicel has successfully reconnected a number of islands and communities including Paama, Epi, Tongoa, Ambrym, Maewo, Banks Islands, Luganville Santo and majority of the sites in Malekula who are among the most recent to once again receive voice and data services. Currently the Technical team are working day and night to fully restore the services up North.

Currently, it’s confirmed that Santo, Banks Island, Pentecost, Ambae, Maewo and Malekula are facing communications issues. The network in the rest of the country stayed up throughout the cyclone.

Digicel Vanuatu welcomes new CEO Deepak Khanna

Mr Khanna brings over 20 years experience to the role, having recently served as Chief Executive Officer in Nauru, Tonga and CCO for Digicel Samoa.

Prior to joining Digicel, Deepak was the Head of Marketing for Bmobile - Vodafone, and was responsible for launching the Vodafone brand in PNG. Prior to that, he was Head of Sales & Marketing, Media Niugini Ltd- EMTV (Erstwhile CHANNEL 9), Papua New Guinea.

Digicel Vanuatu supports Haos Blong Handikraft

Tari is one of the four House Leaders at the Haos Blong Handikraft and she is very happy with Digicel's support in this.

The vendors will be able to post up and share their new locally and handmade products and items on their Facebook Page @Haos Blong Handikraft.

Haos Blong Handikraft has been operating since November 2017 and it is dedicated to selling only Vanuatu Made products.

The market provides over 50 vendors with a platform to sell a wide variety of handicrafts such as alean (island) baskets, home decor, carvings, jewelry and artwork.
