Filipo Daugunu

Daugunu ruled out for Wallabies

Daugunu has missed out on selection as he’s being sidelined due to a broken arm.

The former Labasa football goalkeeper only played for 30 seconds in the final Test against France last weekend and had to leave the field due to his injury.

Wallabies coach Dave Rennie has named a 42 member squad which includes Marika Koroibete, Rob Valetini and Isi Naisarani.

The squad contains eight uncapped players, with four others having made their debuts against France this month.

Rennie's glowing praise for former Fiji soccer prospect after impressive Wallabies debut

The 25-year-old scored a crucial try in the 16-all draw to reaffirm Wallabies coach Dave Rennie’s faith in handing him a debut in the cauldron of trans-Tasman rugby.

Carrying on his superb Super Rugby AU form, Daugunu looked right at home at Sky Sports Stadium, keeping pace with fellow Fijian flyer Marika Koroibete, who was Australia’s other tryscorer.

Daugunu finished with a 108 metres from 11 runs, which was 44 more metres than any other player on the field.

His four tackles busts was also an equal game-high.

Newly Wallabies-eligible winger signs bumper deal with Reds

24-year-old Filipo Daugunu has signed a four-year deal with the Queensland team which could see him press his case for selection in the Wallabies.

Daugunu is finally eligible for the national side after moving to Australia three years ago and signing on with the Reds gives the former football goal-keeper a straightforward run to the Wallabies.

“I’m very happy to stay at Queensland,” Daugunu has said of his new contract.
