Vanuatu’s Galaxy FC appoints new coach

This is part of Galaxy FC restructure for the new season as the club aims to make soccer a holistic approach in the community.

The club has made four appointments and one of these is the appointment of new head coach.

Solomon Islander Nelson Sale is the new assistant coach for the club.

Nelson has played with Auckland City and part of Solomon Island team.

Former head coach Mois Poida who led Galaxy FC to victory in the 2020 VFF National Super League is the new technical director.

     

Galaxy FC win Vanuatu Football National Super League

The team thrashed Malampa Revivors 5-0 in the grand-final.

Galaxy defeated Ruerue FC in the semifinal 4-1, while Malampa defeated LL Echo 3-2.

Both finalists have earned a place in the OFC Champions League 2021.

Meanwhile, the National Super League was awarded to Claude Aru of Malampa Revivors FC, while Moise Poida of Galaxy FC won the best coach award.

     

Galaxy and LL Echo through to Vanuatu football National Super League semis

Galaxy from Port Vila Football Association topped the Pool B of the National Super League after their second win against Iwoka FC at the Port Vila Stadium over the weekend.

Despite Iwoka losing the match, the new comers to the NSL from Shefa Football Association managed to get 4 balls inside Galaxy’s net.

The final score Galaxy won by 6-4 and leads their pool with 6 points followed by LL Echo from Tafea football Association with 3 point and Iwoka FC is out of the competition with no points.

Vanuatu’s Galaxy FC to resume training schedules

The head coach Batram Suri and other overseas-based players are in the country except for Terence Carter, who is currently in Australia.

The team made a milestone achievement in the pool rounds of the OFC Champions League in Papua New Guinea in February and have qualified for the quarter-finals.

The OFC Champions League quarter-final was scheduled to be held in New Zealand this month, but it has been postponed to next year due to the COVID-19 crisis.
