Kim Kardashian West defends herself over Kimono row

Many Japanese people on social media said the trademarked brand, Kimono Intimates - a play on her name - disrespected traditional clothing.

The reality-star-turned-designer, however, told the New York Times, it was a "nod to the beauty and detail" that goes into a kimono.

The loose long-sleeved robe dates back to 15th Century Japan.

She added: "I understand and have deep respect for the significance of the kimono in Japanese culture.

"My solutionwear brand is built with inclusivity and diversity at its core and I'm incredibly proud of what's to come."

The reality star said the label, launched on Tuesday, is inclusive and "celebrates and enhances the shape and curves of women".

But Japanese people on social media have said the trademarked brand disrespects traditional clothing.

The kimono, a loose long-sleeved robe typically tied with a sash, dates back to 15th Century Japan.

Considered the national dress of Japan, it is now mostly worn during special occasions.

At the end of a trailer for the new series of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the reality star says to her sister Khloe, "We're having a baby".

There have been reports in the US that Kim's younger sister Khloe and half-sister Kylie Jenner are also pregnant.

The trailer didn't address their reported pregnancies.

In a clip for season 14 of the show, Kim is speaking to Khloe in a video call.

"What happens every time I say, 'Guess what?'" Kim asks.

"The person's pregnant?" Khloe asks before Kim announces, "We're having a baby".

Several newspapers and magazines had claimed Kim and Kanye were planning on adding to their family with another woman carrying the child.

She told E! News: "I've definitely seen a lot of things, [but] we've never confirmed anything."

The reality TV star says she decided to clear the air during a trip to New York Fashion Week.

Kim Kardashian-West didn't outright deny claims she was planning on having more children.

But, now, the pair are reportedly not as close as before.

Appearing on Australia's "Today" to promote her new book "The Secrets of my Life," Jenner said she and Kardashian West are not in contact currently.

Authorities said at the time that the American reality TV star was robbed at gunpoint by at least two men dressed as police officers.

The men entered Kardashian West's luxury apartment before tying her up and locking her in the bathroom.

They escaped with an estimated €10m (£8.7m; $10.5m) in jewellery.

French police said that traces of DNA left at the scene led to the arrests.

The men were detained in early morning raids in the Paris region, Normandy and the French Riviera following three months of investigations.

Fans have been missing the reality star ever since she went underground after being robbed at gunpoint in Paris in October.

A usually prolific social media poster, she stopped and was barely seen in public.

The hospitalization of her husband rapper Kanye West for exhaustion in November also kept her off the radar.
