Salah shares Golden Boot with Mane

Salah went into the final day of the season two clear of the chasing pack but he failed to find the net as Manchester City retained the title ahead of the Reds.

The Egypt star could not match his incredible return of 32 Premier League goals from last term, but 22 was enough to share the award with two fellow Africans.

Aubameyang hit a double in Arsenal's 3-1 win at Burnley while Mane scored both Liverpool goals in their 2-0 home win against Wolves on Sunday.

Here it is!

Salah and Firmino ruled out of Liverpool v Barcelona

Salah, Liverpool's leading scorer in all competitions this season, sustained a head injury in the Reds' 3-2 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Egypt forward had to be taken off on a stretcher in the 73rd minute, with his replacement Divock Origi scoring the winner 13 minutes later.

Speaking ahead of Barca's trip to Anfield, Klopp confirmed Salah had suffered a concussion but will be fit for Sunday's decisive final-day Premier League clash against Wolves.

Salah retains CAF African Player of the Year gong

Salah defended his crown after scoring 44 goals for Liverpool and Egypt in 2018, the 26-year-old finishing as the 2017-18 Premier League Golden Boot winner with 32 goals.

Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also made the three-man shortlist for the award.

The nominees for the main award made up the front three in CAF's Africa Best XI of the year, with Guinea's Naby Keita providing further Liverpool representation in a midfield completed by Atletico Madrid and Ghana's Thomas Partey and Manchester City and Algeria's Riyad Mahrez.

Salah claims PFA's POTY award

The Egypt forward has hit 31 goals in 33 Premier League appearances since signing from Roma for an initial £36.9million (€42m) last June, equalling the record for the most prolific campaign in the division's 20-team history.

Salah has three fixtures remaining - against Stoke City, former side Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion - to surpass the mark hit by Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and ex-Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
