Vanuatu Ombudsman Office signs MOU with VPF

The agreement will also see the two institutions facilitate exchange of information between them.

Acting Ombudsman Alain Molgos and the Acting Police Commissioner Colonel Robson Iavro signed the MOU last week.

The agreement combines the specific functions and objectives of both agencies as mandated by law.

Vanuatu Table Tennis Federation,Paralympic Committee sign MOU

Since 2017, the VPC has been developing squads of parathletes in the provinces and now have parathletes training several times a week in Isangel, Tanna, Luganville Santo, a new group in Lakatoro as well as two groups in Vila, one at Ecole Centrale and another under the auspices of Wan Smol Bag at Tagabe, Port Vila.

The focus to date has been on athletics; running, javelin and shotput but this MOU signing will see expansion of activities to include table tennis.

Air Vanuatu signs MOU with Department of Labor and Employment Services

The MOU lays the groundwork for a close and productive working relationship between Vanuatu’s national airline and the office of the government’s Commissioner of Labor and employment services. It provides for proactive consultation and communication on a wide range of employment issues, including interpretation and application of employment law and labor policies, staff development and succession planning, and compliance with the work permit under the (Amendment) Act of 2018.

Vanuatu and Australia reaffirm strong relationship

The MOU was signed by the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and External Trade, Ralph Regenvanu, and the Australian High Commissioner, Jenny Da Rin, in Port Vila Monday.

Australia is Vanuatu’s largest development partner providing almost six billion vatu annually through the Australian aid program to help Vanuatu build resilient infrastructure and improve economic opportunity, provide essential health and education services, improve community safety and resilience, and to rebuild after Tropical Cyclone Pam.

Tourism Organisation signs MOU with MSG

The South Pacific Tourism Organisation is expected to work with the grouping of Melanesian countries in areas like planning, policy, information sharing, product development and marketing.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed in Port Vila also includes collaboration with airlines on products, capacity building and training.

The tourism body's CEO Chris Cocker has highlighted the great potential for Solomon Islands and PNG in the area of cruise and niche tourism.

He's also pointed to the example of Fiji which has 40 percent of the Pacific's regional market share.

USP, Vanuatu Cultural Centre sign MOU

Under the MoU, research information will be disseminated between the parties, joint research activities like seminars/workshops will be organised and VCC will prioritise USP’s students and staff in their research projects carried out in the country.

USP on the other hand will facilitate logistic and administrative support for universities or researchers taking up studies under VCC in Vanuatu, according to a press release.

USP signs MOU with Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu

The MOU aims to enhance the friendly relationship through mutual cooperation between the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Vanuatu and USP’s Emalus Campus, in the provision and management of a scholarship funding called the Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship Fund.

More students from Vanuatu to study at FNU

The MOU was signed in Suva, Fiji yesterday.

VIT principal Jack Graham said the FNU has been a beacon of timeless learning for many Vanuatu students.

He said FNU has produced graduates who helped contribute to Vanuatu’s development.

Graham said the signing marked another milestone in the historical cooperation between Fiji and Vanuatu.

FNU Vice Chancellor Professor Nigel Healey said the MOU would enable students from Vanuatu to learn from Technical, Vocational, Education and Training and the  National Productivity Training Centre.

     

SPTO Signs MoU with PIPSO

SPTO and PIPSO share common interests in developing tourism and private sector growth in the Pacific region and have identified areas where the two organisations can work together to promote and develop a joint strategic way forward in the region.
