Pentecost Vanuatu

Clean water delivered to Pentecost after volcanic ash fall

Parts of both Vanuatu islands were blanketed in ash after the latest eruption of the Manaro volcano on Ambae.

RNZ Pacific reports the ash made the water situation worse for Pentecost residents who already had limited water due to months of hot, dry weather.

The National Disaster Management Office is now delivering fresh water.

It has also been raining and Pentecost residents are able to collect water.
