The photographic exhibition of travel photographers and film producers, Martin and Osa Johnson will be held on Thursday 18, July 2019 at the National Archives Building.

The exhibition is called; ‘Re-Encountering Ancestors: Martin and Osa Johnson’s 1917 and 1919 Photographs Return to Vanuatu’

The event is being organised by the Vanuatu National Museum and the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum of Chanute, Kansas, USA.

Martin and Osa Johnson were among the first photographers to document people and custom in Vanuatu.

The Emae Farmers Association was revived in 2017 through the support of the Assistant Agriculture Officer on Emae, Mr Stephen Natigo.

 According to the Assistant Agriculture Officer the local farmers that came to Port Vila with their vegetables and root crops were selected from 10 villages on Emae.

 “Our yearly plan for 2018 featured two market dates- July and December” Natigo said.

The project was launched recently by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Ralph Regenvanu, Australia’s High Commissioner to Vanuatu, Jenny Da Rin, Deputy Lady Mayor of Port Vila Leimara Malachi and Nancy Wells from the Asian Development Bank.

Minister Regenvanu, who was instrumental in the transfer of two land titles for the sanitation facility to be built on spoke highly of the improvements now happening with the community of Ohlen Nabanga.

This also comes after the request for support from various development partners committed to energy and transport in the Pacific.

The three-day regional workshop, is hosted by the Government of Vanuatu in collaboration with the Pacific Community (SPC) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

“The Government of Vanuatu is particularly proud to host the regional meeting for Heads of Maritime and Energy in order to prepare the Third Energy and Transport Ministers Meeting in 2017”.

PVFA has also confirmed that Amicale FC will play against Vanuatu U20 Pre-Squad today in the PVFA and VFF Promotional Tournament at 3pm.
