Team Fiji athletes medically cleared, ready for SolGames23

According to Bennion, everything is proceeding seamlessly from the athletes’ perspective, with all the necessary elements falling effortlessly into place.

Furthermore, Bennion highlights that the athletes’ commission recently conducted the last round of medical evaluations for the participating athletes over the weekend, and the results indicate that all athletes are in prime physical condition and medically cleared to participate.

Team Fiji’s star Banuve Tabakaucoro books spot in 100m semifinals

Tabakaucoro clocked the fastest time of 10.93 seconds in the heats.

His teammates, Tony Lemeki and Lasarusa Senibale have also qualified in the semifinals of the same event.

Lemeki recorded 11.31 seconds while Senibale finished with a time of 11.21 seconds last night.

The three athletes will run in the semifinals which will be held today at 6:30pm (Fiji Time).

In the women’s 100m, Braelynn Yee finished in 6th place in the final running a time of 13.09s.

Fiji is currently ranked 12th in the overall medal tally with 7 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Fiji’s Sprint King, Banuve Tabakaucoro qualifies for Tokyo Olympics

FASANOC has confirmed his name in the Team Fiji list.

Tabakaucoro is currently training in Australia preparing for the Games.

The 29-year-old will race against the best in the world as he takes up the universality spot for athletics.

Meanwhile, Fiji Swimming has submitted the names of Cheyenne Rova and Taichi Vakasama.

Rova and Vakasama are going to the Olympics through the universality spot.

Table Tennis will also be represented at the Games by Sally Yee.

Team Fiji win Pacific Island Food Revolution 2020

The winners received FJD $5000 in Suva last night.

Team Tonga’s Mia and Mafi are the runners up in the competition, which saw cooks from four countries pit their skills in the kitchen.

Samoa and Vanuatu also competed in the competition.

The programme was televised in 14 Pacific countries.

The team Fiji members operate the Niu Grillz restaurant and catering business, located at the Fiji Club.

Kaiwalu wins Team Fiji’s first medal in Athletics

Kaiwalu failed to defend his Pacific Games High Jump title as he didn’t clear the bar at 2.02 meters.

He finished second while Waisea Jikoiono was fourth.

Kaiwalu was tied for silver with Papua New Guinea’s John Richard. Tonga’s Mosese Foliaki won gold with a jump of 2.06 meters.

 

Ana Kaloucava- Fiji’s fierce flyer

At 15 she stunned Fijians with her speed and flexibility and she quickly became one of the top athletes in the Island nation.

Now at 26, Ana Kaloucava is still racing to get her first ever gold medal in the Pacific Games.
