Veteran Vanuatu journalist Gratien Tiona Molsoul passes away

Molsoul died last night only days after veteran journalist, Ricky Binihi passed away at Vila Central Hospital.

Molsul was Editor of Vila Times

He was well known in print media and has a long experience in the field of journalism.

Molsul was previously in charge of the francophone section of The Independent newspaper after working at Nasara and Vanuatu Weekly Hebdomadaire.

He also worked at Radio Vanuatu in the early days of his career.

Visiting LDS leaders meet Vanuatu journalists

Elder Ian S. Ardern of the Seventy and First Counselor in the Pacific Area Presidency was joined by Elder Adolf Johansson, Area Seventy; Sister Bonnie H. Cordon, Young Women General President; and Sister Joy D. Jones, Primary General President.

Also in attendance was Yvon Basil, president of the Port Vila Vanuatu Stake of the Church, as well as Derek Cordon and Robert Jones, who are travelling with their wives.

Vanuatu loses veteran, well respected journalist Jonas Cullwick

Cullwick passed away last night.

He worked as a professional journalist for many years even prior to independence and was a former General Manager of Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation.

Cullwick was a senior journalist at the Daily Post until his passing away.

The Media Association of Vanuatu said it is deeply saddened to hear of the passing away of Cullwick.

He was also the Media Association's current Executive Treasurer.

According to MAV, Cullwick served Vanuatu on so many occasions and through hundreds of published articles.

Upskilling of journalists on climate change reporting by EJN in Vanuatu

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is an organisation that establishes networks of environmental journalists in countries where they don't exist, and build their capacity where they do.

Two of the EJN Officers are currently in Vanuatu to empower and upskill local journalists to effectively report on the effects of Climate Change in Vanuatu and to advocate for community resilience.
