Vanuatu Tourism Office opens Tanna Travel Centre

The travel centre is located opposite Lenakel’s market house, a central location that will help ensure better accessibility for members of the public wanting information or to make travel bookings.

The Tanna Travel Centre was previously located at White Grass Airport.

TAFEA’s tourism businesses will also benefit from having a more convenient location for marketing and selling their products to domestic consumers.

JICA Vanuatu awards participants with certificates

One of the participants, Lola Iavro, a representative from the Shefa Health Office attended training on Comprehensive Disaster Risk Reduction, from 16th November – 18 December, 2020.

Gregil Fateful from the Vanuatu Tourism Office attended training on Tourism and Promotion and Marketing from from February 15– 26 Feb, 2021.

Sakary Fateful from the Vanuatu Fire Service attended training on Rescue & First Aid Techniques and Fire Fighting techniques from 21 August-20 November 1996 and on the 8th July-21st October 1999.

New Vanuatu Tourism Office Board Chairman

Mr. George was appointed by the new Government and succeeds Merian Numake.

Mr. George says as Board Chairman, he wishes to “encourage all tourism operators to continue operations targeting the domestic market”, and promises that under his Chairmanship, VTO “will continue to support tourism in this time of crisis”.

VTO donates World Tsunami Summit t-shirts to students

The shirts will be worn during an important Students International “Survival From Disasters” World Tsunami Summit which will take place in Japan at the Wakayama prefecture, next month October.  

Vanuatu Travel Expo to foster domestic tourism

The aim of the event is to bring the local Port Vila community to talk and meet with tourism operators from all over Vanuatu.

“We want to encourage our local community to get out and about and explore all that Vanuatu has to offer. We all know that Vanuatu is home to many wonderful experiences that are unique in the world, and we want to take this opportunity to encourage our own people to enjoy these very experiences, promoting domestic tourism within Vanuatu,” said Adela Issachar Aru, CEO of the Vanuatu Tourism Office.

VTO to launch new website

The vision for the new consumer website, is to become a visually rich site that connects visitors to Vanuatu and provides connections and insights to the people, places and experiences that will create lasting memories when they travel, and encourage return visits.

The VTO is excited to have signed off in April, the website’s creative and design so the builders, BeDigital of Tourism Holding Group in Gold Coast Australia, can start deploying.

Vanuatu Auckland Roadshow With a Twist

Radio Vanuatu reports the roadshow was held in the city center’s Pullman Hotel, which highlighted a strong support by the retail agents totaling to 140 agents, attending the event from Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch.

The Tourism information office in the centre of town has been experiencing an increase in the number of high school students coming in to request information related to individual assignments.
