Vanuatu village to upgrade its water system

The village community chairman, Ova Kalsau, said the current system could not meet demand.

The Daily Post newspaper reported that they were planning to install a modern water supply system for the entire village and to make provisions for future population growth.

Mr Kalsau said they would remove the old galvanised pipes and replace them with plastic PVC piping.

The project is expected to cost about $US378,000 dollars and it is hoped this will be met through donations from the Mele community.
