Air Vanuatu welcomes new flight attendants

Vanuatu’s national airline today announced the hiring of 13 additional cabin crew to operate its Boeing 737 and ATR 72 services.

All 13 are graduates of Air Vanuatu’s first Flight Attendant Class of 2019. “These new flight attendants really are the best of the best,” says Beverly Alvos, the airline’s Manager of Cabin Services. “It was difficult for us,” she says. “With over 300 applications, we had so many highly qualified candidates to select from.”

The rigorous selection process included panel interviews, exams and background and reference checks. Then training was conducted in the classroom and on aircraft, both in Port Vila and in Brisbane in Australia.

“We are very proud to welcome these 13 local talents to the big Air Vanuatu family,” says Derek Nice, Chief Executive Officer. “Our cabin crew are our front line ambassadors, greeting and serving our guests with the friendliest smiles and our renowned Vanuatu hospitality, from the moment they step onboard.”

Air Vanuatu’s own cabin crew are now operating all international flights, including flights to Auckland, Brisbane and Nadi operated by our partner Nauru Airlines. Be sure to look for our new graduates on your next flight with Air Vanuatu.
