Ministry acknowledge staff of MALFFB

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Bio-Security (MALFFB) organized an end of year function for all the staff working within the five departments under the ministry at the Tagabe Agriculture Station.

Speaking on behalf of Minister Hosea Nevu, who was on an official trip to Santo, the Privat Secretary to the minister, Levi Tarosa thanked all officers working within the five departments for their commitment and dedication throughout the year.

“I would like to acknowledge all the staff and extend the government’s appreciation to all your families, who are always behind you to ensure you perform your duties and responsibilities well to serve the people of this country.

“I believe that your work outside Port Vila is remarkable because out of all government ministries, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Bio- Security is the only ministry that you would actually see people out there on the fields and your job has contributed a lot in the productive sector,” he said.

Mr Tarosa also thanked donor partners and international institutions that are behind the ministry to assist the productive sectors to move forward.

He also acknowledged former Agriculture Minister, Matai Seremiah and Acting Director General, Benjamin Shing for portraying a leading role to motivate all staff and especially the five directors of departments to move the ministry forward in the last two to three years.

“With the new minister we will continue with the good work,” Tarosa assured.

He said 2019 will be a year of refocusing and redefining the ministry’s journey on agriculture.

“One of the policies that the ministry will focus on is public private partnership. We want to see more initiatives from the department, engaging with private sector, Vanuatu government and communities to improve productive sector.

“On behalf of the minister and his cabinet, I would like to wish you all, Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year 2019,” Mr Tarosa concluded.
