New board for Youth Challenge Vanuatu

Youth Challenge Vanuatu (YCV) has a new board of directors elected during its recent annual general meeting.

Narand Jack Beerbul was elected as the Chairman of the Board, Paul Sarai as the Vice President, Carol Dover (Secretary), Jennifer Kausei (Treasurer) with Joe Ligo, Shirley Abraham, Mathias Boe as members.

Cymon Charlie and Solomon Lui were elected as youth representatives in the new board.

In his inaugural speech, Chairman Beerbul emphasized the vision of YCV to address the challenges faced by youth through a more strategic and focused objectives.

“Young people are living in a more volatile world, facing obstacles on a daily basis. We, as leaders should have the ability to anticipate the challenges they face and how to prepare them in advance.

“Young people should be motivated so that they feel eager to develop themselves and make a difference by emancipating fully in the development of their communities and the nation as a whole,” he said.

A non-profit organisation, YCV has been working with youth in Vanuatu since 2001.

YCV aspires to empower young people to reach and realize their potential through leadership, community development, business, career and employment programs and services.

The four major programs currently undertaken by YCV are Redi Blong Wok, Redi Blong Bisnis, Youth Centre Services and Wok I Kik Website.
