NZ provides more help for Vanuatu electoral process

New Zealand has given a further $US1.07 million dollars for a combined civil and voter registration exercise in Vanuatu.

The exercise, which will start in Luganville and Sanma Province next week, will be the largest voter registration exercise since Vanuatu's independence in 1980.

It aims to register more than 160,000 voters in all six provinces ahead of the 2020 National Election.

Since last year New Zealand has been supporting the Vanuatu Electoral Environment Project.

This aid has supported such things as training and logistics for staff, material and equipment for registration kits and centres, forms and national ID cards with security features and other voter information.
