Rice technology training in Vanuatu a success

About 40 farmers involved in rice production have successfully completed a month-long training on rice cultivation technology in Santo, Vanuatu.

The training that was held at Vanuatu Agriculture College was the first of its kind held in the country.

It was conducted by Chinese company, Long Ping High Tec Co Ltd.

The training focused on rice technology, maize technology, farming skills and farm mechanization.

The skills learnt during the training will help the farmers to produce more and better quality rice.

Long Ping High Tec Co Ltd has trained over 50 Vanuatu farmers and public servants in China in the last 3 years after signing a Memorandum of Agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Bio-Security (MALFFB) in 2014.
