SPVLA executive warned to stop interfering

The Chairman of the Shefa Port Vila Land Transport Association, Donald Massing has been warned “to stop interfering with traffic management on the Port Vila Tourism Wharf” or face arrest.

The warning is addressed in a letter from Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Joe Natuman to Massing.

In the letter dated 17 January 2918, Natuman reminded Massing that “the responsibility for the management of traffic at the wharf was delegated in 2016 to the ‘Port Vila Cruise Tourism Committee’, the Department of Ports and Harbour’, ‘the Police’, and ‘the Port Vila Cruise Transport Association’.”

Natuman says “the Chairman’s interference with the traffic management at the wharf this week resulted in a fight which caused injuries to a tourist.”

Yumi Tok Tok Stret reports Natuman also stated “the Port Vila Tourism Wharf is the responsibility of appointed organizations who are the traffic management to ensure always that the “effectiveness and efficiency with disembarking at the wharf is paramount”

He reminds Massing that the main objective at the Wharf is “Tourism” and nothing else.
