The signing was attended by Tok Tok’s first round of major sponsors including ANZ, Air Vanuatu, Warwick Le Lagon, What to do in Vanuatu, Digicel, Airports Vanuatu , Vanuatu Skills for partnership with supporting partners also including the Department of Tourism, Vanuatu Tour Operators Association, and local mainstream media.
This year 2018 will be Tok Tok’s 15th edition with the theme of “Happiness is letting go”. Dates are confirmed for August 27th to 31st with exciting programs developed for Tanna, Santo and a new inclusion in this year’s travel itinerary is Malekula.
Before the signing, the VTO Marketing Manager Allan Kalfabun, briefly highlighted, “On the 27th August just before the Buyers program commences, we will be hosting the second Travel expo with the aim of encouraging our local community to get out and about, explore Vanuatu, and promote domestic tourism”.
The new Tok Tok Coordinator for 2018, Ms Hannah Taleo, was formally introduced to all the sponsors and media, followed by an announcement on registrations.
To date, the VTO has received over 10 sellers including 7 accommodation providers and 3 tour operators. Mr Kalfabun also announced, “We have already received buyer’s registration from South Korea, South Pacific Tourism Organisation, Denmark (new Buyer), Fiji, and New Caledonia with a line-up of a few new participants showing interest to attend Tok Tok”.
“We aim to reach more than 50 seller’s and buyer’s companies that will all sit down, meet face to face, talk, and do business together” Mr Kalfabun said.
In closing, Mrs Adela Issachar Aru, VTO CEO thanked the invaluable support from all the sponsors present, and reminded everyone on this year hash tag #TOKTOK2018 and #DiscoverVanuatu for social postings on Tok Tok so the event’s communications team can retrieve and share on Facebook and Twitter.
