Van2017 promotes its clean-up campaign

To maintain good and sustainable waste management practice, Van2017 is pushing on a clean-up campaign aimed at encouraging citizens to keep their environment clean.

The campaign will focus on encouraging people not to litter, proper disposal of rubbish in rubbish bins, utilizing the PVMC yellow plastic bags, saying no to plastic bags, encouraging reusable bags, and recycling.

As part of the drive, the Van2017 Mascot team along with the Port Vila Municipality will go out into different Port Vila wards and promote the message by actively cleaning and talking to communities about their importance.

Sponsor FM107, Black Thunder will also accompany the team around various parts of Port Vila and actively support the “Keeping Port Vila Clean” initiative and see that the same is maintained throughout the Games.

A campaign aimed at children, ‘Protect What Matters’ will be also launched in September.

The campaign aims to help children understand the concept of environment protection and be Eco warriors.

On the day of the launch, children and families will be invited to participate in a fun filled day with all the National Sports Federations that are supporting this initiative of keeping Vanuatu and Port Vila clean.
