Vanuatu launches National Forestry Week

Vanuatu is celebrating its National Forestry Week with the theme for this year’s event "Promoting sustainable utilization of forest resources.”

The event was officially opened by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity, Matai Seremaiah.

The event is being held at the Agriculture Tagabe Station Show Ground and each province will have a program for the week.

A lot of interesting activities will happen around the stage with stalls occupied by organizations, government agencies and funded programs.

Representatives from the private sector, who are involved in the development of forestry in the country, will also be part of the events

The booths will showcase forest products and educational talks will be delivered by sandalwood growers, small holder live-stock farmers, and on forest conservations.

One of the main highlights will be the panel discussion with key people from relevant organizations involved in the development of Forestry.

Everyone in Port-Vila and in Efate is invited to be part of this three-day event.

The three-day event is sponsored by the Vanuatu Government of Vanuatu and its funding agencies and partners.
