Vanuatu ship suspended for not paying staff

Vanuatu's Office of the Maritime Regulator has suspended the operation of a ship, MV Vanstar Cruise, for failing to pay its staff.

The Daily Post newspaper said the Korean owned vessel, which is registered to a local company, ran into debts and has not been paying its crew.

The Maritime Regulator's office has held talks with the owners and says the company's registration will stay suspended until all outstanding debts are paid.
