Vanuatu visit for ships on Pacific deployment

HMA Ships Toowoomba and Success have visited Port Vila, Vanuatu to conduct regional engagement activities as part of Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2018.

Success hosted an official function, which welcomed local dignitaries onboard to celebrate the strong bilateral relationship shared by Australia and Vanuatu and mark the 25th anniversary of the FRANZ partnership.

The FRANZ partnership shared by France, Australia and New Zealand is an arrangement between the three governments through which they coordinate responses to natural disasters in the Pacific when requested to do so by partner governments in the region.

The French Ambassador Gilles Favret, Australian High Commissioner Jenny Da Rin, Commanding Officer HMAS Success, Commander Grant Zilko RAN, Prime Minister of Vanuatu Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas, Commanding Officer HMAS Toowoomba, Commander Stuart Watters RAN and New Zealand High Commissioner Jonathan Schwass all marked the occasion at HMAS Success’s official reception.
