Final preparations underway for Tok Tok Vanuatu 2018

International travel wholesalers and media will descend on Vanuatu next week, as the Tok Tok Vanuatu, led by the Vanuatu Tourism Office, is pressing forward with final preparation to make the event a huge success.

This year Tok Tok will be held at the Warwick Le Lagon, Vanuatu in the Farea Pasifik Convention Centre.

VTO has confirmed that 52 booths have been erected so businesses (Sellers) can meet with wholesalers and agents (Buyers) during the 2 day business-to-business meetings.

The Chef du village, Sebastien Bador, VTO’s Research and Information Manager, has taken the role of officer-in-charge of the village set up and lay out since 2008.

This year, the standard booths are being built for Sellers, and double sized booths are built mainly for large sponsors and partners such as Air Vanuatu, Evergreen Tours & Transfers, Vanuatu Tourism Office and the Warwick Le Lagon – Vanuatu.

“Our interior booths are U-shaped whilst corner booths have open-sides and they all have carpet floor and a double power-point. We will be providing one trestle table and 4 chairs but sellers are also welcome to bring their own furniture if they wish” Bador stated.

Mr Bador further adds, “For the first time, Tok Tok village has been built inside the resort’s Farea Pasifik Convention Center which covers over 1,000 square meters so there is plenty of space for everyone to move around in.

There will also be a prize for ‘Best Port-Vila Booth’ and ‘Best Regional Booth (outside Port-Vila)’ so Sellers, with regards to your booths, please do dress to impress so you can win a special prize”.

Tok Tok’s committee says the event’s Internet and mobile communication is Digicel Vanuatu, who will be providing free internet access to all participants and guests attending Tok Tok, as well as sponsoring the Media Lounge where all the media engagements will take place.

Ali Serhan, General Manager of Warwick Le Lagoon said it is very excited to host Tok Tok Vanuatu 2018.

“It’s a great annual event where the tourism industry gets to meet with international buyers and gives us the opportunity to showcase our Beautiful Vanuatu, and with both the organizing committee and my staff working very hard to get the venue ready for next week, there is already a lot of positive vibe being felt at the resort promising that this year will outcome to another successful Tok Tok” Serhan stated.

Last year’s research showed that 100% of buyers felt Tok Tok was beneficial to the marketing and growth of Vanuatu as a tourism destination.
