BSP Vanuatu continue to support World War II Museum

The Bank of South Pacific (BSP) will further support the South Pacific World War II Museum project with a donation of VT 300,000 through the Museum's Navara Fund.

The support will assist the popular mini museum and project office in Luganville carry out activities in developing a destination of choice for remembrance and discovering the untold stories of hidden Vanuatu histories.

"We are pleased to back the museum in continuing to exhibit and display the exciting and meaningful collection of art and history of Vanuatu," said BSP Santo Branch Manager Edwige Wensi.

"We remain a proud supporter to the museum in driving tourism and culture by promoting with positive messages in the country," she added.

Chairman of the Museum Association's board Bradley Wood thanked BSP for the generous support in continuing to build and strengthen its relationship with the community.

"We are very pleased to have BSP continue to support the project in Luganville. The support is helping us develop an important cultural asset for the people of Vanuatu. We appreciate the re-signing of the support offered by the bank and ensure to continue partnership in developing the history of Vanuatu," said Mr Wood.

Recently, the office had lost one of their Heroes, Alma Wensi, late husband of Mrs Edwige Wensi, Bank Manager of BSP Santo Branch, who was passionate about getting many locals and visitors to visit the mini-museum at Unity Park, Luganville Santo and experience an eye-opener education awareness about many of the Pacific war tales.

The support is also in memory of Mr Wensi's legacy for strengthening and building community relations and preserving history for future generations.
