Vanuatu Ombudsman Office drafts 2020 office business plan

The month of July marked an important milestone for the Office of the Ombudsman.

Staff members and the outgoing Acting Ombudsman, Alain Wai Molgos undertook a review of the current structure of the office as well as the 2019 staff business plan.

There was also a review of all job descriptions of senior managers and other officers.

At a retreat, the staff produced a draft office business plan and budget for the year 2020.

Staff were also able to review investigation processes and prepare for any upcoming changes in governing legislations.

The retreat was also part of continuing and completing the Ombudsman Office structure review, which started on 17 April, 2019.

The Ombudsman Office structure caters for 33 staff.

However, the office has only 17 budgeted positions occupied due to financial constraints.

The Ombudsman Office has also launched a new website.
