Barras fight back to beat Kenya by 21 runs

The Hebou PNG Barramundis held off a much improved performance from Kenya to win by 21 runs in the second World Cricket League Championship 50 over match this afternoon at Amini Park.

Chasing 249 for victory, Kenya's run got off to a bad start after opener Irfan Karim was dismissed for 4.

His partner Gurdeep Singh fired back, blasting 6 fours for his 27 before being dismissed by Norman Vanua.

Kenya's two new batsmen Rakep Patel (33) and Rushab Patel (95) turned the momentum Kenya's way to put them right back in the game.

Barras all-rounder, John Reva continued his good form, making the breakthrough, dismissing the dangerous Rushab.

At this stage, Kenya was at 5/214 after 45.4 overs.

Rushab's dismissal signaled the end for Kenya as the last 5 wickets fell for 14 runs.

Kenya were all bowled out for 228 after 47.5 overs.

Reva was the outstanding bowler for the Barras, finishing with figures of 4/31 off 8.5 overs.
