Miss Vanuatu in 2017

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Trade Industries and Ni-Vanuatu Business Joe Natuman has approved the hosting of Miss Vanuatu pageant next year.

This has been confirmed by the chairperson of Miss Vanuatu Committee Linda Kalpoi.

According to Ms Kalpoi, the minister has approved that the beauty pageant will be held in October in support of Vanuatu as the host of the South Pacific Tourism Minister’s and Board of Director’s Meetings.

Miss Vanuatu has an important role in supporting gender-equality within Vanuatu; advocates for environmentally-friendly activities and she is a real tourism ambassador for the Vanuatu Tourism Office”. 

Radio Vanuatu reports the last event took place in 2013 and Ms Valerie Martinez was crowned Miss Vanuatu amongst a selection of ni-Vanuatu beauties.

She then proudly represented the country at regional and international beauty pageants such as Miss South Pacific in Honiara, Solomon Islands, and Miss Asia Pacific World in Seoul, Korea.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office invited her to attend prestigious local events such as the Vanuatu Tourism Awards for Excellence, and regional shows like the Australian tourism trade road show or New-Caledonian consumer fairs.

The Vanuatu Tourism Office is the Secretariat of the official Miss Vanuatu Committee.
