Prince William, Kate Middleton release new photos of Princess Charlotte

Christmas has come early for royal watchers.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released two official new snaps of Princess Charlotte overnight to mark her six-month milestone.

Mum Kate Middleton, 33, took the gorgeous photos at their country home Anmer Hall in Norfolk earlier this month.

In one picture, the adorable baby is shown sitting in a chair with her toy and howling with laughter as her mother snaps away with the camera — believed to be the same Canon EOS 5D Mark II she used for previous shots of her children.

In the second, the princess is shown looking past the camera as if something has caught her attention behind the Duchess.

Charlotte wore a pink cashmere cardigan over a Liberty print dress with a frilly collar.

Babies of Charlotte’s age are making major strides in their development and the princess appears to have reached some of her targets — sitting up, laughing and engrossed with the world, and is likely to be gurgling and able to roll around unaided.

Kensington Palace, which released the photos, said in a statement the royal couple was “delighted to be able to share two new photographs of Princess Charlotte.”

“The Duke and Duchess continue to receive warm messages about Princess Charlotte from all around the world and they hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do,” the statement continued.

Charlotte was born on May 2 at St Mary’s Hospital in London, like her big brother Prince George, but has not been seen in public since her christening in July.

Mail Online reports the Duchess initially had no intention of releasing the photographs, but decided to share them as a thank you to British media for respecting her family’s privacy.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very grateful for the support they have received when it comes to their children and wanted to share these very charming pictures taken by the Duchess. It is something they intend to continue to do,” a royal aide said.

Kate is an accomplished amateur photographer and took a joint portrait of her children a few weeks after her daughter was born.
