Dan Carter thinks the All Blacks would win an end-of year clash with England and he's urging rugby's administrators to make the game happen.
"I'd love to see it happen," Carter told Sportsmail. "Any rugby fan would love to see it. Both nations have achieved so much since they last played in 2014.
"It's been so long, so there would be even more hype than usual. It would be up there with the classics."
The Rugby Football Union in Britain is trying to arrange a match at Twickenham on November 4, but obstacles stand in the way.
England's rugby clubs could be a major hurdle for the proposed showdown at Twickenham in November.
Premiership Rugby will reportedly demand 50 per cent of the test match revenue or it will refuse to release England players for selection.
This comes on top of New Zealand Rugby also demanding a pay-day of more than NZ$5 million for the London test.
The All Blacks have won their last five meetings with England, a run dating back to 2012, but Six Nations champions England are on the verge of surpassing their record run of 18 test wins in a row. They can do it by beating Ireland at the weekend.
There are no surprises who Carter thinks would come out on top, despite England's rich vein of form.
"England are on fire. As a player, you want to play the top sides and they're the top two in world rugby at the moment. It would have everything. If it works, it would be a great occasion for players and fans and I'd back my All Black brothers to come out on top," he told Sportsmail.
Carter, who spearheaded New Zealand to 10 wins from the 11 tests he played against England, said he would not say the All Blacks were nervous about a showdown.
"I'd say they're excited. You want to be playing the in-form teams and England are exactly that at the moment. The All Blacks thrive on challenges so it's something the players would embrace," he told Sportsmail.
"To be labelled dominant, you have to be at the top of your sport for a number of years. It's not about being at the top for a short period. I looked up to the Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan and Roger Federer and Tiger Woods."
Carter said England were winning and playing with style. "I can see them overtaking the All Blacks' record but we worked extremely hard for it and we'd like to keep it — or share it."
