Crockett to make Super Rugby history

Crusader's prop Wyatt Crockett will play his record breaking 176th Super Rugby game this weekend- the most appearances by any player.

The Crusaders will take on Japan's Sunwolves in Christchurch on Friday night.

Crockett will overtake former All Blacks team mate Keven Mealamu's record for the most capped player.

The Cantabrian also holds the record for the most Super Rugby games for one team.

Crusaders coach Scott Robertson has made a number of changes to the side which comes off a by-week with only five players in the 23 remaining in the same position.

Captain Sam Whitelock and vice-captain Matt Todd retain their spots at lock and loose forward; Mitchell Drummond starts again at halfback; and utitlity backs David Havili and Marty McKenzie will again wear the 15 and 22 jerseys respectively.

Keiran Read will also make his first appearance of 2017 this week, he missed the start of the season due to a wrist injury.
