NZ Rugby chairman Brent Impey announces the 37-man All Blacks squad to go on the end of year tour.
The inclusion of young hooker Asafo Aumua and winger Matt Duffie are the notable features of the All Blacks squad for their end of year northern tour.
In an extended 37-man squad named on Monday morning, former NRL player Duffie and Wellington sensation Aumua are joined as new All Blacks by Tim Perry and Jack Goodhue.
Several players weren't considered for selection for the tour due to long-term injury and other reasons, including hooker Liam Coltman, props Owen Franks and Joe Moody, lock Brodie Retallick, and outside backs Jordie Barrett, Israel Dagg, Nehe Milner-Skudder and Ben Smith
Aumua is just 20 years old and has starred for Wellington in the Mitre 10 Cup this season after excelling in the world championship-winning New Zealand Colts. Skilful North Harbour outside back Matt Duffie used to play in the NRL with the Melbourne Storm, Tim Perry is a physical prop from Tasman and he and talented Northland midfielder Jack Goodhue both trained with the All Blacks squad earlier this year.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen said six players who have carried heavy workloads this year will not play the first match of the tour against the Barbarians - captain Kieran Read, hooker Dane Coles, prop Wyatt Crockett, lock SamWhitelock, and midfielders Anton Lienert-Brown and Sonny Bill Williams.
The All Blacks will fly out on Friday to play tests against France, Scotland and Wales, as well as the tour-opener against the Barbarians in London on November 5 and a midweek game against a French XV.
As well as the 37-man squad, the All Blacks selectors also announced that five additional players will play for the Barbarians and then assemble with the All Blacks for the French leg of the tour. They are Otago loose forward Dillon Hunt, Waikato prop Atunaisa Moli, who has trained with the All Blacks squad this year, Canterbury halfback Mitchell Drummond and his provincial teammate Richie Mo'unga, who was called into the All Blacks squad in Brisbane last week as cover, and Canterbury and two-test All Blacks lock Dominic Bird.
