Four years ago the rugby league nines teams from Vanuatu missed out on their debut appearance at the Pacific Games because there was no room for them on the plane chartered by their National Olympic Committee.
But with the 2023 Games in Solomon Islands just over a month away, this time there is good news, with VASANOC confirming that both the men's and women's rugby league squads will be making the trip to Honiara.
And with one of the medal favourites having already pulled out of the competition, the door may be open for Vanuatu to make an impact at their first attempt.
