Special Olympics Team Vanuatu does country proud

The Special Olympics Team Vanuatu is savouring the moment after scooping medals at the World Games in Abu Dhabi.

The team arrived home to a rousing welcome as members proudly displayed their medals for family members and fans to see.

Thirty-three year old Ken Kalsong picked up a gold and a bronze medal in athletics in the 100m and long jump events.

Monique Sau collected a silver medal and a bronze medal for shotput and 100m respectively.

Toumaramara Taravaki and Atis Carlo each received 2 bronze medals.

 Digicel Vanuatu provided cash sponsorship of USD $10,000 to assist the team prepare for the World Games.

Digicel Vanuatu will also host the team to a formal function later in the week.
