The All Blacks have flown into Paris a little bit battered and bruised after their 29-20 loss in Dublin.

Centre Anton Lienert-Brown has his arm in a sling after suffering a should injury yesterday and coach Ian Foster says he won't be considered for the game against France.

First five Beauden Barrett continues to go through concussion protocols after suffering a head knock during the game in Dublin.

Ireland dominated most aspects from start to finish to score their third win over the All Blacks since their historic victory in 2016.

The All Blacks led 10-5 at halftime.

Ireland scored three tries to the All Blacks two and kicked several penalties to secure the nine point win.

Ireland's New Zealand born wing James Lowe scored the first try of the test, while hooker Codie Taylor, who was yellow carded in the first half, and wing Will Jordan scored tries for the All Blacks.

It's the All Blacks first loss of their Northern Tour.

Ireland dominated most aspects from start to finish with another superb performance against the All Blacks.

Ireland have won two of their last four tests against the All Blacks since breaking their 111-year drought in 2016 and Whitelock said it was a contest New Zealand looked forward to.

"This week is massive. If you look back over the last five or six times we've played Ireland, they are big games and big occasions," Whitelock told reporters.

"Especially here (in Dublin), it's an amazing atmosphere that is hard to describe.

Winger Sevu Reece is the only player retained from last week's scrappy win over Italy as the selectors named a team close to that which featured in the previous week's 54-16 thumping of Wales.

Among the backs from the Welsh test, Rieko Ioane is moved from the wing to midfield to partner Anton Lienert-Brown and replace David Havili, who drops to the bench as Reece moves over to the left after starting on the right in Rome.

Smith was expected to miss the entire season-ending northern hemisphere tour to stay home with family after the birth of his second son Leo but could line up in the final two tests against the Irish and France.

"It all happened very quickly and now I'm two hours from jumping on the plane to join the boys in Ireland," Smith said in a video posted on the All Blacks' social media account on Tuesday.

"I've very excited to come back and join the boys ... Two very big games for the lads, which is really exciting to be part of.

The squad sees the young locking partnership of Tupou Vaa'i and Josh Lord named to start in the second row. It will be 21-year-old Vaa'i's fourth start in his 10th Test while 20-year-old Lord gets his first Test start after making his debut against the USA in the first Test of the Northern Tour.

"I spent several years thinking I was going crazy. At one stage that's genuinely what I thought. It was the constant headaches and all these things going on that I couldn't understand," Hayman said.

Those thoughts and symptoms led to Hayman abusing alcohol, having suicidal thoughts.

He ended up receiving a suspended prison sentence in France after admitting to charges of domestic violence.

The All Blacks outscored their hosts by seven tries to one at a capacity Principality Stadium in another ominous reminder of their power as they went back to the top of the world rankings.

TJ Perenara, Will Jordan, Dalton Papali, Sevu Reece and Anton Lienart-Brown also dotted down with Jordie Barrett adding three penalties and five conversions for a personal tally of 19 points.

Wales, who lost skipper Alun Wyn Jones to injury early on, replied with a try from Johnny Williams and penalties from Gareth Anscombe (2) and Rhys Priestland.

With Richie Mo'unga unavailable for the Rugby Championship games in Australia, Barrett started the last two tests against South Africa.

Mo'unga has rejoined the squad, but Barrett has been preferred and will play his 100th Test.

Barrett will be playing his eighth Test against the Welsh in a stellar career which began back in 2012 and he becomes the All Blacks' 11th Test centurion.
