Brad Pitt says Angelina Jolie 'sought to inflict harm' with vineyard sale

Pitt is suing his ex-wife for selling her stake in the French vineyard they bought together in 2008.

He said her decision to sell her share to a Russian oligarch forced him into partnership with "a stranger with poisonous associations and intentions".

Jolie has not yet publicly commented.

The couple purchased a controlling interest in Chateau Miraval SA, a French company comprising a home and vineyard in the south of France, in 2008.

The A-list pair got married there six years later.

Ms Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 and the pair have since been engaged in a custody battle largely shielded from public view.

A private judge hired to oversee the case, John Ouderkirk, ruled in Mr Pitt's favour.

The ruling would "significantly increase" his time with the children, a source told the Press Association.

Mr Pitt and Ms Jolie are parents to Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14 and 12-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The oldest, 19-year-old Maddox, is not subject to the custody decision.

Controversially, Roman Polanski's latest An Officer and a Spy will also play at Venice. Polanski was expelled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences last year because of his 1977 rape conviction. He's taking legal action in an attempt to be reinstated.

In his first extensive interview since the power couple's highly-publicized divorce, Pitt told GQ Style he will not let things get ugly in court over the couple's six children.

The stars shocked fans in September 2016 when Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt after two years of marriage and more than ten years as a couple.

"I'm personally very retarded when it comes to taking inventory of my emotions. I'm much better at covering up," the star added.
