Ed Sheeran donates painting to Suffolk charity auction

The 29-year-old used house paints to create Dab 2 2020 - so called as it is the second painting he has given to his dad John, whom he calls Dab.

It is the first time one of the Suffolk singer's paintings has been made available for sale.

The colourful abstract is part of the Ed Sheeran: Made In Suffolk Legacy Auction.

The auction was organised with help from his parents to support youngsters in his home county, including redeveloping a playground in Ipswich.

Sheeran previously said he painted a canvas a day for 30 days.

Ed Sheeran exhibition in Ipswich features college drop-out letter

The singer started a diploma at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey, in 2009 but gave it up as his musical career took off.

A letter formalising his resulting failure was sent to him a year later.

It is on show at Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich, along with other personal objects and memorabilia.

Sheeran's father, John, has curated the Ed Sheeran Made In Suffolk exhibition, which opens on Tuesday.

Judge rejects Ed Sheeran's appeal of copyright lawsuit

Gaye's 'Let's Get It On' was released in 1973, and Sheeran released number-one hit 'Thinking Out Loud' in 2013.

US District Judge Louis Stanton said a jury should decide the outcome of the lawsuit, but said he found "substantial similarities between several of the two works' musical elements".

The suit was brought against Sheeran, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, and Atlantic Records by the estate of the late Ed Townsend, who co-wrote the Gaye hit.

Sheeran denies ripping off the song.

10,000 fans helped with Ed Sheeran tickets

The Shape of You singer imposed strict rules for entry at his 18 gigs to try to stop the reselling website Viagogo selling overpriced tickets.

Tour promoter Kilimanjaro Live said thousands of fans with invalid tickets from the website were offered new ones at face value.

Viagogo has been asked to comment.

Sheeran had said he wanted to stop fans being ripped off by secondary ticket sites, many of which are believed to be used by touts selling at overinflated prices.

Ed Sheeran lodges plans for private chapel at Suffolk home

The 27-year-old, who lives near Framlingham, has submitted a planning application to Suffolk Coastal District Council.

It comes after he announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend Cherry Seaborn in January.

The plans say some of Sheeran's guests have "high profiles" and a "need for discretion" which would not be met at local parish church.

According to the planning application, the chapel would be of made of flint and in a Saxon style with a 14.6m (48ft) round tower.

Ed Sheeran accidentally bumped off in Icelandic obituary

Why? Turns out Mr Sigurðsson was an Ed Sheeran tribute performer in his spare time. Not sure what this says about the fresh-faced British singer, who at the tender age of 27 has just got himself a Mrs Sheeran-to-be. Maybe time to start having the odd facial, Ed?

Or perhaps octagenarian Mr Sigurðsson was the only ginger in the village...?

Ed is apparently too busy buying up a country estate in Suffolk to comment.

Seaborn is an accountant and field-hockey champion who studied at Duke University in North Carolina.

A wedding date has not yet been announced.

How Taylor Swift almost had 2017's biggest album

The star outsold every other artist in the US last year - shifting 1.9 million copies of her fifth record, Reputation, in just seven weeks.

But her decision to withhold it from streaming services until December damaged its chances in the chart of 2017's most popular albums.

That's because 1,500 streams now count as the equivalent of one album sale.

Beyonce 'unlikely' to use burner email

"I have an email address that I email - that actually changes every week," he said during an interview about working with her on a duet.

The reporter, from Entertainment Tonight, then suggested that Beyonce was good at "hiding" and he agreed.

He laughed during the interview but his comment has fuelled media speculation about Beyonce's commitment to privacy.

"It's kind of what I aspire to be, I think," he added.

The BBC has contacted representatives for both Ed Sheeran and Beyonce for comment.
